Deep Things: Deception in the Mouth of People
Haven’t you heard several times that life in marriage is a difficult thing — so you should expect that you will not find it easy in marriage?
That is the deception
What if I told you that THAT is the deception I heard from many people when I was about to get married?
Of course, you are finding it difficult to believe me — because you have been trained to believe in the negatives and reject the positives!
Why can’t you accept the blessing?
Why can’t you accept the fact that your life in marriage can be a blessing to you every day of your life? Is it because they already told you 100 times that “marriage is not easy” — and you believed them, even though you have never been married?
You seek, you find
So when you get married, all you are doing is looking for the difficulties that marriage can bring — and finally you find them. Because if YOU SEEK, YOU WILL FIND (see Matthew 7:7)!
I wish you had THE right attitude — to seek only the good things marriage can bring. Then you would never have found the difficulties!
My friend, you believed the DECEPTION people told you!
Yours should be different
My question for you is this: how could you equate YOUR unique marriage with general opinions? Can’t you see that yours should be different?
Anyway, I can’t blame you — I blame the ignorance in you… “For lack of knowledge, many perish” (see Hosea 4:6).
This is just one of the many deceptions people told me. But if you begin to train your mind to believe only the positives, that is what you will get at all times!
