Your Most Important Building Project
I have learned by experience that your mind is the most important building project you have. How you build it is determined by what you hear — and how you hear.
“Take heed what ye hear.” — Mark 4:24
“Take heed therefore how ye hear.” — Luke 8:18
A Direct Command — That Few Obey
“Get wisdom, get understanding” — these are direct, commanding words of God. Yet only a few seek to obey them.
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” — Proverbs 4:7
Remember: it says “get wisdom” — not “wisdoms.”
I only hope you got the message. I really do hope you are bold enough to say you have this Wisdom already — and seek for no other.
The Problem of This Generation
The problem of this generation is lack of wisdom.
We know too much and practise nothing.
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” — James 1:22
We seek to know more, thinking that when we know all, we shall practise best — but we fail to remember these principles:
- He that is faithful in little, the same will do best in much. (“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” — Luke 16:10)
- Practise makes you better than your present.
- All you need is all you have now to start growing.
The Fool and the Saver
A fool is one who claims he knows how to save but saves nothing. But a wise person has started saving already — that he may learn to master it.
So stop waiting to know all. Get wisdom. Get understanding. And start — with all you have now.
